To help bridge the gap created when SCA ceased doing rescue The Schipperke Club of America Rescue and Health Foundation, Inc., put together a program that will work in cooperation with SCA Referral when it is operational.
The Foundation realizes that there are individuals performing Schipperke rescue who were previously dependent on the SCA Rescue for financial assistance. In an effort to aid these individuals, the Foundation offers the following:
1. Individual Rescuer Application – an agreement between an individual rescuer and the Foundation. The individual doing Schipperke rescue could enter into an agreement with the Foundation and subsequently receive funding for a rescue Schipperke under the Foundation Rescue Assistance Policy.
2. Rescue Assistance Policy – guidelines to assist the local Schipperke clubs, approved individuals and the SCA Rescue Referral with expenses involved in Schipperke rescue.
If you want to rescue a Schipperke the Foundation will pay for normal veterinary procedures that are explained in our application form. All you have to do is fill out the application and send it in, it’s easy! Keep in mind that you should always consult a veterinarian prior to submitting your application and include an estimate of the services you are asking to be covered. We prefer to pay the veterinarian directly so it is a good idea to let him or her be aware of that.
The above mentioned documents, along with generic rescue forms, can be found on the Rescue Assistance page.
