Our Active Projects

The Schipperke Club of America Rescue & Health Foundation is actively supporting projects that are currently underway or seeking participation within the Schipperke community. These initiatives represent our ongoing commitment to improving the health, longevity, and overall welfare of the breed.

Our active projects focus on real-time impact from advancing genetic research and supporting critical health studies to providing direct assistance for Schipperkes in need. Each effort is carefully selected based on its potential to make a meaningful difference, whether through scientific discovery, improved care, or increased awareness.

As new opportunities emerge and the needs of the breed evolve, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that move the needle forward. These are not past accomplishments they are the work happening now, driven by collaboration between researchers, breeders, owners, and dedicated volunteers.

Current Research Participation Opportunities

Current Research Participation Opportunities

Current Research Participation Opportunities

We actively support ongoing research studies that rely on participation from Schipperke owners and breeders. These studies are critical to advancing understanding of inherited conditions and improving long-term outcomes for the breed.

Participation may include DNA sample submission, health surveys, or case data sharing. When opportunities are available, we encourage involvement from across the community.

Epilepsy Research (Ongoing Support)

Current Research Participation Opportunities

Current Research Participation Opportunities

Epilepsy remains an active area of research within the breed. The Foundation continues to support awareness and participation in ongoing studies, including those conducted through major research institutions.

We encourage owners of affected dogs, as well as unaffected relatives, to participate when opportunities arise.

Health Data & Genetic Insight Initiatives

Current Research Participation Opportunities

Health Data & Genetic Insight Initiatives

The Foundation promotes the ongoing collection and use of genetic and health data to better understand trends within the breed.

This includes encouraging the use of comprehensive DNA testing platforms and participation in data-sharing efforts that contribute to broader research initiatives.

Rescue Assistance in Action

Community Engagement & Participation

Health Data & Genetic Insight Initiatives

We provide ongoing financial assistance to rescuers and organizations actively working to help Schipperkes in need.

From emergency veterinary care to rehabilitation support, these efforts are continuously evolving based on real-time needs within the rescue community.

The success of our active projects depends on community involvement. Breeders, owners, and supporters all play a role in advancing research and supporting rescue efforts.

We continue to expand opportunities for participation and collaboration across all areas of our work.
